Long Purple Button Freshwater Pearl Necklace
7-7.5mm pinky/purple button pearls with excellent lustre.
When looking at high quality, natural pinky/purple colour freshwater pearls like these you can see how the wonderful lustre leads to an effect called ‘orient’. Orient appears in the form of a rainbow on the surface of the pearls, a bit like seeing oil on water. This is as a result of the reflected light passing back through the nacre, diffracting and showing the different colours of the spectrum.
Shown here as a 36'' pearl necklace, this versatile piece of jewellery can be worn as one long loop or doubled up to create two rows of stunning white pearls.
