Yummy Food & Drink
It’s true what they say: if you want to find memorable places to eat and drink in Jersey, go where the locals go. After all, there’s so much that goes into making a great dining experience – from the food itself to the atmosphere of place and its location on the island. Here are our best-loved choices for dining delights, including vegan options.
There are three Crab Shacks on the island but in our opinion, the one in St Brelade’s Bay stands out for the views alone. Whether it’s a crispy prawn fritter or a vegan lentil curry, Crab Shack is a great choice for delicious food with plenty to feast your eyes on while you dine. If you have eating intolerances or food allergies, everything on the menu is clearly marked so you know what’s ‘safe’. Good portion sizes and its laid-back feel make it a great choice for sharing, families and informal meals.
Relaxed, great food, family friendly.

This is the local favourite for good steaks and cocktails. We think it’s the ideal place to come with your mates, rather than for ‘family time’, as the atmosphere can be loud. Food is delicious here: not only is there every cut of beef you can imagine, but plenty of other mouth-watering choices covering fish, tapas and vegetarian options. This is the venue to come for drinks, and its lively, New York style interior has a very upbeat, celebratory feel.
Fun, head to for steaks. Great for celebrating with friends.

For when you want food where you can see all the ingredients, this clean eating, wholefoods restaurant is a treat. Minimal inside, food and fruit form part of the décor which gives an instantly relaxed and wholesome feel to the interior. Ingredients are fresh and bursting with taste, making healthy eating a total pleasure. This is a popular choice when you need to be conscious about what you eat, and we think it excels for fresh lunches full of goodness.
A treat if you want to detox, feel better or grab a healthy lunch.

Mark Jordan at the beach
Located on Jersey’s south coast, near to St Aubin’s harbour, lies this gem of a restaurant. The Michelin-ranked meals are consistently great value and absolutely delicious; we’re talking excellent local food cooked really well. The atmosphere is calm and relaxed, so we think it’s perfect for family dining or a chilled evening of treating yourself to a flavoursome, round meal.
Great value and flavours, and a lovely, restful feel.
La Plage, La Route de la Haule, St Peter, Jersey, JE3 7YD. Tel: 01534 780180.
Whether you pick the Royal Bay oysters or go for the vegan pumpkin risotto and homemade sorbets, Suma’s has a mouth-watering menu full of Jersey produce, and is a total favourite of locals. It’s smaller size makes for a cosy, homely feel, while spoiling everyone with jaw-dropping views overlooking Gorey Pier.
Great for fine dining with an emphasis on delicious, local flavour.
